Warsaw Flight Guide
Warsaw is not only Poland’s capital but also the largest metropolitan area in the country. Situated on River Vistula, the city is home to 1, 7 million people who live in 18 districts. Warsaw is an important cultural and economic hub and since the political changes of 1989 have kicked in, the city has developed into a modern metropolis with skyscrapers that can easily compete with those of Frankfurt and Rotterdam. Warsaw has worldwide economic and cultural relations with its 25 partner cities such as Berlin, Düsseldorf, Chicago, Oslo, Istanbul, Seoul, St. Petersburg and Vienna.
Warsaw has a lot of sights and although many valuable buildings were badly damaged during the war, they were lovingly restored. Because it has survived so many wars, attacks and bombs, Warsaw is also called ‘the invincible city’ by locals. The Old Town has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Warsaw is also very famous for its large park Lazienki which is definitely worth visiting. Moreover, there are beautiful palaces and boulevards for a great shopping spree such as "Nowy Swiat", "Wing Królewski" or the "Aleje Ujazdowskie.
Visitors can certainly spend the night in very luxurious hotels such as the Hotel Belweder, Bristol Le Royal Meridien Hotel or the Hotel Sofitel Victoria Warsaw. But there is something available for every budget depending on individual vacation ideas- privately rented rooms, apartments, hostels or campsites. Many European airlines service the route between Australia and Warsaw. However, even from Australia’s largest airports such as Sydney, the flight connections are rather inconvenient. Passengers stop at least twice on the way and it can take up to 33 hours to reach Warsaw. It is strongly recommended to compare all airlines and routes to ensure the shortest possible trip (which is around 17 hours long).
