Seattle Flight Guide
Seattle is a vibrant city and although the grid-like street system can be a little confusing at first, visitors will find their way around quite easily. The city is said to have touch of San Francisco due to the impressive skyline right by the sea. Probably the best known and also the most interesting building in town is the Space Needle observation tower which offers a clear view of the city. It is also a fantastic place to dine because the restaurant revolves slowly around itself and guests can have a unique view over Seattle while enjoying their meal.
Capitol Hill is the best area for a shopping spree and for a vibrant nightlife. It is also a popular place among students due to the nearby Seattle University. Downtown Seattle has a breathtaking skyline of old buildings and new architecture. There are also numerous shops and bistros in this area. Lake Washington is surrounded by a beautiful neighbourhood and the parks are a great place to take a break. Lake Union has become world famous through the movie “Sleepless in Seattle” as it was the location for Tom Hanks’ boat. The Pioneer Square is the oldest area of Seattle and is packed with interesting galleries, small shops and cosy restaurants.
Arriving in Seattle is fairly easy due to the Tacoma International which connects Seattle with the world. Unfortunately, there are still no direct flights from Australia and a trip usually involves a short stop in Los Angeles. It is best to take this route because most others will make the trip unnecessarily long and expensive. Average travel time is between 17-20 hours and passengers from all over Australia can reach Seattle comfortably.
