Sao Paulo Flight Guide
Sao Paolo is not only the largest city in South America, but also the third largest in the world. It covers an area as large as the island of Jamaica and has 17 million inhabitants which make up 20% of Brazil’s entire population. With all its districts, Sao Paolo is also the most powerful industrial centre of the country.
A special attraction in Sao Paolo is the botanical garden which consists of more artificially planted wildlife than real jungle. An absolute must is a tour of Sao Paulo's Old Town and a visit to the Casa de Anchieta which is a museum and one of the oldest buildings in the city. Sao Paulo has a very diverse nightlife with a lot of live music events. Especially the area around Treze Rua de Abril is known for its clubs and restaurants. Due to Sao Paolo’s enormous size it is advisable to plan a trip well in advance and decide which areas are of most interest. Especially in terms of restaurants, bars and clubs it is recommended to get an update of newly opened places.
Sao Paulo has a subtropical climate and the rainy season is between October and March. On average, the temperature in Sao Paulo is around 20 °C all year round. There are several airports but only one of them is serviced by international airlines. The best bet from Australia is with Qantas and LAN Airlines, and it is worth comparing the two to find the quickest route. Qantas offers 1-stop flights from Sydney via Buenos Aires which takes around 18 hours. Often passengers have to stop several times, especially when departing from smaller airports so that the trip can take up to 34 hours.
