Rio De Janeiro Flight Guide
Rio de Janeiro is Brazil’s highest populated city and is beautifully surrounded by sea and mountains. It is considered the tourist capital of the Latin American continent and as a gateway to Brazil. It is home to 7 million inhabitants of all nationalities and is primarily dominated by afrolatino locals. The mixture of culture and nations results in a very special way of life and exotic genres of music and dance. World famous is the colourful carnival celebration which takes place every year and attracts thousands of tourists.
Rio de Janeiro is renowned for its beaches Copacabana and Ipanema, and the towering statue of Christ on the Cerro del Corcovocado from where tourists can catch a glimpse of the famous Sugar Loaf. Particularly hot and spicy is the carnival in Sambadrome which is a major event for Brazilians and tourists. The most important historic buildings, galleries and museums are concentrated in and around the city centre, while the most attractive tourist sites are more likely to be found in the southern zone. The districts around Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon are by far the best places to eat and drink while enjoying Bossa Nova and Salsa tunes. Breathtaking views, great food, a chilled cocktail and Latin American beauty- what more could anyone wish for?
The best flight connections are offered by South American airlines rather than US or European providers. Nevertheless, there are no direct flights between anywhere in Australia and Rio de Janeiro. Try to book via Buenos Aires which takes about 20 hours and is one of the fastest possible routes. It is recommended to regularly check online and compare flight routes to ensure the shortest possible flights.
