Phoenix Flight Guide
Phoenix is the capital of the U.S. state Arizona and has approximately 1.5 million inhabitants. The main income source used to be cotton and citrus fruits but has now changed to high-tech companies in the telecommunications and electronics industry.
It is useful to plan a trip well before visiting Phoenix because there are many things to see. Two very striking examples of architecture are Frank Lloyd Webber’s Taliesin West and the Gammage Auditorium. There are also numerous museums to be visited and several beautiful parks which are perfect for a short break. One major attraction is the famous Hall of Flame where tourists can learn about fire fighters, grand fires and heroes that saved many lives.
Due to the desert-like climate, Phoenix has about 312 days of sunshine a year. In summer, temperatures can rise up to 50°C and can drop to 0°C in winter. There are numerous US and Australian airlines that offer flights between Phoenix and Australia. Passengers from larger Australian cities such s Sydney can usually reach Phoenix within 17 hours with a stop in San Francisco. Those who depart from airports that have no direct connection to the US must travel via Sydney and expect to travel around 20 -25 hours.
