Nairobi Flight Guide
Nairobi is a must for any adventurous traveller! The multicultural capital of Kenya is not only a starting point for any East Africa Tour but also offers tourists an exciting trip in itself. The Nairobi National Park for instance is a place of beautiful nature and has a unique animal diversity. Particularly popular among tourists are of course Safari Tours through the heart of Africa which also includes a visit to nearby famous Mount Kilimanjaro. Kenyans are very warm and hospitable people who add to the amazing experience that is Nairobi.
The districts of most interest for tourists are Nairobi central, the wealthy Westlands and Karen Hill. The Sarit Center is the largest shopping center in Nairobi and is located on the corner of Park Land and Mukinduri Road. Traditional African art can be found on the Embassi market near the airport in Mombasa Road. A great place for a meal is the City Square which is packed with well reputed restaurants that serve traditional and modern cuisine. The nightlife of Nairobi is also concentrated in the city centre and apart from bars and pubs, tourists will also find fashionable VIP lounges.
As Nairobi is situated in a tropical climate zone it has pleasant temperatures all year round. March is the warmest month with an annual average of about 21°C and is the best time for a visit because only one month later is the beginning of the rainy season. Emirates, Qantas and Kenya Airways offer the quickest routes on this trip with one stop on the way if travelling from the larger Australian airports. It will take about 24-28 hours on a 1-stop flight and can be as long as 35 hours on a 2-stop flight from smaller airports such as Adelaide
