Las Vegas Flight Guide
Despite the relatively small population, Las Vegas is one of the most famous cities in the U.S. and owes its reputation to its world famous casinos with annual sales up to US$ 40 billion. Numerous luxurious hotels and celebrities such as Elvis Presley made Las Vegas a major destination for the rich and famous. It was officially established in 1905 and is located in the desert of Nevada.
When it comes to nightlife, the Strip is certainly the most popular address. On Las Vegas Boulevard visitors will encounter an unbelievable choice of casinos with incredible shows and gambling facilities. The Strip is also a good place to go shopping but is a very pricy area. The University of Nevada is located in a lively quarter and is the meeting point for students and young visitors. In addition to the high-prestige hotels and countless casinos, Las Vegas has much more to offer. The Las Vegas Natural History Museum, for instance, is worth a visit. Just like the rest of Vegas the museums are highly entertaining for everyone, featuring live animal shows, massive dinosaurs and the opportunity to play with scorpions, which make this experience unforgettable.
Accommodation in Las Vegas is pure luxury and extremely expensive. One of the less pricy options is the Ramada Inn Las Vegas Speedway, where a night will cost around $40-$100. It is difficult to find prices lower than that, but with a lucky hand in gambling it is possible to afford a nice hotel room. The best way to get to Las Vegas is by plane as it has no railway station. Qantas offer flights to Las Vegas via Los Angeles, which is the standard route and takes around 17 to 22 hours from Australia.
