Halifax Flight Guide
Halifax is the capital of the Canadian province Nova Scotia and has around 373,000 inhabitants. It is a strategically important city due to its port: it is the base of the Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guards. The harbour also features two large container terminals, landing docks, and an oil refinery. Halifax is also a popular university featuring six great higher educational institutions including the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
One major highlight for visitors is the Old Town Clock which is also the landmark of Halifax. Other attractions include the Halifax City Hall, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Province House. For extensive shopping sprees go to Argyle Street in downtown Halifax- this is also a great place for coffee breaks, delicious meals and a relaxed afternoon. Tourists who seek a maritime atmosphere and culture should definitely visit Halifax on a trip to Canada.
Flying to Halifax is a little difficult because its airport is fairly small. Passengers from Australia must be prepared to stop around 4 times on the way and travel approximately 26- 30 hours. Flights are offered by Air Canada and Delta.
