Brisbane Flight Guide
Brisbane is located in the northeast of Australia by the same named river and is the capital of Queensland. It was established in 1824 as a penal colony and has approximately 1.86 million inhabitants today. Brisbane is known for its universities but also for its precious oil industry. Thousands of tourists are attracted by the nearby holiday resorts of the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast every year.
Particularly popular is the Zoo Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where visitors can touch koalas and feed kangaroos. The historic Newstead House is one example of a colonial relict and was built in 1846. The Town Hall is also worth a visit, featuring a 100m high tower. Travellers who enjoy physical activities can go to the Riverlife Adventure Centre, where they can roller skate, hike, climb rocks and kayak. The Botanic Gardens are an oasis of wildlife and are a great place for long walks.
Ibis Hotels and Novotel are popular places to spend the night for fair prices. Bargain hunters may be able to find offers online and may be able to receive an early-booker’s discount. The internet is also the ideal tool to find low-budget flights as an alternative to Qantas and British Airways services. Virtually all Australian airports have flights to Brisbane, and passengers travel 1 – 4 hours depending on which domestic airport they depart from.
