The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is located in South America and borders Colombia to the west, Guyana to the east, Brazil to the south and the Caribbean Sea to the north. Its capital and largest city is Caracas. Other major cities include Maracay, Maracaibo and Barquisimeto. The official language is Spanish. Simón Bolívar International Airport (IATA: CCS) is the largest international airport in Venezuela. Other major international airports include; Jacinto Lara International Airport (IATA: BRM) and La Chinita International Airport (IATA: MAR). Direct flights to Venezuela from Australia are not available but Qantas operates cheap direct flights from Sydney Kingsford Smith. The average direct flight time from Sydney to Caracas in Venezuela in a commercial airliner is 19 hours.
