The Netherlands is a western European nation and is the main portion of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is bordered to the south by Belgium and Germany to the east. Much of the Netherlands is compose of land reclaimed from the sea. The common name of the Netherlands is Holland. Its capital and largest city is Amsterdam. Other major cities include Rotterdam, S. Gravenhage and Groningen. The official language is Dutch though German is widely spoken. Netherlands offers a unique brand of tourism. There are 20 national parks and hundreds of other nature reserves. Some places to visit include; museums and naughty nightlife of Amsterdam, The Hague, Efteling, Scheveningen beach, Walibi World and the west Frisian Islands. Summers are cool and winters mild.
