The republic of Lithuania is the southern most of the Baltic States. Its capital and largest city is Vilnius. Other notable cities include Kaunas and Klaipeda. The weather in Lithuania is mild in comparison to the rest of the Baltic States. Coastal temperatures average minus 3 degrees Celsius in January and 15 degrees Celsius in July.

There are four international airports in Lithuania, the main one being the Vilnius International airport (IATA: VNO). Indirect flights are rare but Qantas offers cheap indirect flights from the main departure airports of Perth, Brisbane, Sydney Kingsford Smith and Melbourne Tullamarine. The average direct flight time from Sydney or Melbourne to Vilnius in Lithuania in a commercial airliner is 19 hours. Indirect flights will vary depending on the connecting hub.
