Jetstar Cheap Flights, Airfares & Air Travel
Jetstar is a low cost airline based jointly in Australian and Singapore, commencing operations in 2004. The airline is fully owned by Qantas, but is operated as an independent airline. Jetstar operates a modern fleet of 23 aircraft (as at 2006). Jetstar operates flights to numerous destinations across Australia (including regional) and destinations throughout Asia, including Bali, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Christchurch, Bangkok and Hawaii.
Jetstar – Jetsaver Economy Class JetSaver Light fares are the cheapest fares offered by the airline, and allow passengers to bring carry on baggage only. It is possible to pay a surcharge to check in baggage, payable online in advance or at the airport. Passengers who wish to check in baggage may prefer to purchase a JetSaver or JetFlex fare, which offer a 20kg free checked baggage allowance.
Passengers travelling in Economy Class on international flights are able to pre-purchase meals online. Alternatively, they may purchase from the onboard menu inflight, a service also available to domestic passengers. A complimentary bottle of water will be provided at the commencement of the flight, with other beverages available for purchase.
Star Class is available on international flights operated by Jetstar. All meals, drinks and access to the snack bar are complimentary and passengers may also use the personal entertainment system provided to them. An increased baggage allowance of 30kg is available to passengers travelling in Star Class, along with access to the Qantas Club lounge in Australia.
Jetstar International Star Class Jetstar passengers travelling in Star Class or on JetFlex tickets are able to use flights taken with the airline to accumulate points on the Qantas frequent flyer scheme. Benefits of the Qantas frequent flyer scheme include free flights and upgrades.
