Emirates is the national carrier of the gulf state of Dubai and was founded in 1985. Emirates has expanded rapidly through an aggressive expansion strategy. The airline operates a modern fleet of 113 aircraft, with a further 244 aircraft on order (as at 2008). Emirates operates services to Dubai from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth and flies to over 100 destinations worldwide.

Economy Economy, Business & First Class

Emirates has three cabin classes on its flights, all offering a unique experience.

First: First class on Emirates is comparable to staying in a 5 star hotel or dining in a top restaurant. First class passengers on Emirates enjoy the comfort of sleeper seats. There is an in-seat mini-bar at each first class seat and a controller which controls from what movie you watch, to how you would like your seat positioned. Meal times in first class are an experience, with an extensive menu of exotic foods prepared by world class chefs and some of the world’s best wines on offer.

Business: When you travel in business class on Emirates you will arrive at your destination refreshed, with sleeper seats and lie-flat beds on selected aircraft. Enjoy fine dining with 5 course lunches & dinners on long haul flights as well as complementary beverages.

Economy: Economy passengers enjoy many of the comforts available to first and business class passengers such as; ICE with over 600 channels of on-demand entertainment and SMS, phone and email available at each seat. Economy passengers are served lunch and dinner on long haul flights as well as complimentary drinks.

Emirates Frequent Flyer

Emirates operates a frequent flyer scheme called Skywards. There are three levels of membership available, Gold, Silver and Blue. Each time you travel with Emirates your account will be credited with tier miles, which accumulate to award you privileges. Each tier offers members entitlements. Some examples of the benefits of membership are; Pre assigned seating, waitlist priority, priority check-in, excess baggage, lounge access in Dubai and more.

Private suites are also available on certain flights. The onboard entertainment system, ICE (Information Communication Entertainment) is arguably the best entertainment system in the skies today. ICE offers passengers over 600 channels of audio, video and games entertainment. The ICE system also provides a facility for passengers to make a phone call, SMS or email from their seats.
