This is the start of a new marketing campaign for the Virgin Blue airline which utilises Twitter to generate sales. The $9 seats or ‘Tweet seats' as they have been coined, are only available via the Virgin Blue Twitter website.
The campaign began on the 31st of August and will only last until all 1,000 $9 tickets are sold. This is an excellent opportunity for Virgin Blue Twitter fans to holiday for rather low costs and many different routes are available.
Even if you miss out this time around there is no need to be disappointed. Virgin Blue is planning to offer more fantastic deals through their Twitter website over the coming months. This is a promotion that is being trialled by Virgin Blue to see how effective social media is for generating air traffic.
