The large Australia airline Qantas has recently decided to name one its new aircraft after Sir Reginald Ansett. A new Airbus A380 will be the type of aircraft that is to be named after the aviation pioneer.
The naming of the new Airbus A380 was announced by Qantas CEO Alan Joyce as he delivered the Sir Reginald Ansett lecture. The lecture took place in Canberra on Tuesday the 6th October.
Also, Alan Joyce welcomed the government's white paper on aviation reform. He stated that he believed that it is time for Australia to make a push forward and plans to help make the skies above Australia the smartest, safest and also the most environmentally friendly in the world.
Joyce also announced that the long term outlook at Qantas is bullish. Qantas has plans to purchase 160 new aircraft over the course of the next 10 years. They also have an investment pipeline of well over 7 billion dollars in the next three years alone.
