Mardi Gras – Top 3 Australian Festivals.

Mardi Gras.

On one glorious day at the end of summer, Sydney transforms itself into a fabulous glittered monstrosity also known as the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. It is the world's premier gay and lesbian arts festival and has a world famous parade that weaves its way through the heart of Sydney leaving behind feathers, glitter and tubes of used lip gloss.

This event is not one to be missed, being the most fabulous night for all, for the gay and the straight, and it even has kid friendly events.

It all takes place during the hot and spectacular Sydney summer so you can enjoy lazing around on the beaches, ferrying around the harbour and getting to know the shops in this gay friendly, tolerant, lively city eating it's great food and photographing its fantastic architecture.

The 2010 Mardi Gras has a brand new format for 2010, lasting two weeks and with bright and colourful of major events on three successive weekends – Launch at Fair Day, Parade and Party.

Launch/Fair Day – 21st February
Parade and post-Parade Event – 27th February

Party – 6th March

The full programme will be launched in December and you can check up for event updates on the website at http://www.mardigras.org.au/
