If you are heading out into the outback, there are some must see desert destinations that you shouldn't miss.
If you are travelling through South Australia, take a scenic flight over the Flinders Rangers and see the incredible natural splendour of the rock basin of Wilpena Pound and then take a trip through the desert to see the incredible Aboriginal art at Akaroo Rock. Don't forget to sample the local bush tucker at one of the local pubs to complete the experience!
In Western Australia you can't go past tasting the mud crab and marvelling at the vast and brilliant Lake Argyle. In Kununurra, Western Australia, you have to see where the rare pink diamonds are mined. There are some of the most incredible ridges and ranges that are over 350 million years old, a perfect place to explore a natural history and indigenous lifestyle. Feel like a bit more adventure? Ride a bull at the local rodeo.
In NSW you can discover some of the most distinctive desert landscapes and oasis' in Australia in a mining town known as the Silver City. Broken Hill is one of the world's largest silver, lead and zinc mine, it is now famous for its artists who get inspired by the incredible natural beauty that surrounds this town. Drink it all in, there is nowhere like it in the world.
If you are in Victoria, head to Mildura to discover the beautiful vineyards, endless sunsets, aboriginal culture and the bright sand dunes of Lake Mungo, take a balloon ride and soak in the atmosphere from up above.
